Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for more than 20 years. She's the co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well being the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an author and philanthropist as well as a television host as well as the proprietor of the independently liberal online news magazine The Huffington Post. She moved from Greece to England at the age of 16 and earned an MA from Cambridge University in Economics. In her 21st year, she was head of the famous debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student who was elected to this position. In the years following the graduation ceremony, she was an influential conservative syndicated journalist. A few more years later she created The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current political scene. The fame of Arianna led to the recruitment of a number of well-known contributors for posting their thoughts on news political, culture and politics. Arianna became famous in 2003 when she ran as an independent in California recall elections to replace Governor Davis. She also headed the Detroit energy-efficient vehicle project. Her name was voted as the most influential women in media in 2009 by Forbes in 2009 and was awarded 12th position on this list. That same year Guardian named her on the 100 most influential media on their list. AOL acquired The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. Then she was appointed the President of the AOL media group. It was comprised of several AOL-owned properties, such as Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli was born to Konstantinos Stasinopoulos and Elli the other, both of whom are journalists and consultants in management. Although she had a close connection to both her father and mother, it was their bond which shaped her. Through her early times, she demonstrated the qualities of a leader for which she is still well-known. At 16 years of age she emigrated back to United Kingdom to pursue her study and then enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. In her college years, she belonged to Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first woman and the only foreign president. In 1972, she earned an advanced degree in Economics. In the years following her degree she worked as a journalist-critic and TV host. She was on the show with Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began to write the books she wrote with Bernard Levin's assistance.
